About Vick
In 1971, Vick began his career in the construction industry. From his humble beginnings as a finishing and framing carpenter, his nearly 40 year career has included every aspect of the construction process. He literally knows how to build a house from the ground up and can pinpoint current or potential problems at any phase of construction. From 1977 - 1989, as a custom home builder, Vick won multiple awards including the Allied Arts/Craftsmanship Award Winner from the Kansas City A.I.A. Other notable projects during this time were the Simpson Residence Award Winning Passive Solar Home in Lawrence, Kansas, the downtown Trolley Station in the Eureka Springs, Arkansas Historic District and the Buffalo River National Park Camp Ground in Jasper, Arkansas.
In 1989, Vick and his family moved from Arkansas to make Central Texas home. He became a production builder and manager for Milburn Homes (currently D.R. Horton) in Austin and eventually moved over to KBHome to be their Regional Construction Manager. During this time he managed construction of over 1000 homes and subsequently the superintendents and sub contractors.
Vick Kennedy Inspections, Inc. opened it's doors in 2000 and Vick hasn't looked back since. He quickly became the most sought after inspector for buyers and sellers alike, and as his reputation grew, so did his region. Toll Brothers Luxury Home contracted Vick to not only inspect their homes in Austin, but in San Antonio as well.
In addition to home inspection, Vick has acted as consultant to several custom builders in Austin, conducted phase inspections for several builders including Partners in Building, Taylor Morrison Homes, John Siemering Homes and Bear Creek Homes and draw and final inspections for several mortgage companies.
He has been a Professional Real Estate Inspector #5266 licensed since 2000 by the Texas Real Estate Commission and has the following certifications:
